Thanks to modern technology and innovation, it is now possible to purchase steam showers for home use. This is good news! You can have all the benefits and perks of a steam shower without having to leave the house. Are they a bit expensive? Well, more so than a normal at-home shower, but that is to be expected.

Companies like Ariel, Kohler, AmeriSteam, and Royal have all thrown their offerings into the mix. Remember: competition is good for the consumer. I would say that steam showers run in a price range typically of approximately $3,000 up to $7,500. Most of them will fall in this range somewhere. What you are actually purchasing are the entire showers stalls, which must then be incorporated into your bathroom design. Suffice it to say, you should probably think about whether you want a steam shower before you go re-designing your bathroom. This way it all can be planned at once. These are not items that can so easily be worked into any old architecture, although there may be some wiggle room there.

An Example of an In Home Steam Shower

Why Get A Steam Shower

Just think about it: it’s the end of a long work day and you are beat. All of the days troubles are upon you, running through your mind. You’re done with work but work isn’t done with you. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was just some magical button you could push and it would all go away? Well, folks, that’s kind of what these steam showers do. They sweat the day’s troubles out of you, and they provide health benefits at the same time. They are so relaxing as I’m sure you already know. (And it literally all happens just with the push of a button.)

Convience

Now if you could have one of those in your home you could use it so much more than at a gym or a resort. This is very convenient. Steam is very healing and has been in use for a long, long time. The sauna originated in Finland, and Native Americans have long known about the virtue of sweat lodges, even though that works a bit differently than a shower, it still employs some of the underlying principles and theories.

Steam Generators

These can be bought separately. Let’s say that your current steam generator breaks down somehow. You don’t need to worry because it can be replaced. A whole new shower is completely unnecessary at this point.

However, these things are pretty expensive. For example, looking at a series of Mr Steam Steam Generators you can see that they run in price from $870 all the way up to about $2,900. These also run in kW range from 5 kW on up. They are typically about one cubic foot in volume.

In Your Home

So wouldn’t it be nice to have your own home version of the steam showers which you have come to know and love. Almost everyone who owns one and has it installed raves about them. It is your own spa like in your bathroom.

Now don’t be worried about the price, because besides what I have detailed here, you can also hunt around for a discount steam shower. They are widely available all over the world wide web. And of course, you can take a trip down to your local Home Depot or Lowe’s and see what they have on display and in stock there. Having a firsthand look whether through pictures or through a real life model is always very helpful.

After that I would contact a contractor to see if he has had any experience installing these for other people. Even if he has not, if he comes trusted from past experience or from a friend or neighbor then he may be the right guy for the job.

De-Stress Your Body and Self with Steam Showers

Of course the number one effect that we all love about steam showers is their ability to completely de-stress us. After ten minutes in the shower you will realize that your body is just in an exalted state, and your mind is quite at peace. They used to say you can’t buy peace but I don’t know about that anymore. Apparently you can!

The last thing I would like to mention is that installing these will bring the value of your home up right along with it. Everyone knows that work done to the kitchen and the bathroom tends to track very well in eventual sale price. I would find it hard pressed to think of too many people who wouldn’t want the ability to steam off at the end of the day, or on the weekends after doing some good old-fashioned yard work.
